In this context, we would request in all humility that in order to understand the GITA correctly, the readers reflect dispassionately on the subjects that have been specially discussed in it.
These are as follows:-
- Is the Mahabharat as well as the GITA-text available today in its original form or has it been adulterated and interpolated. Did not the composition of these works take place long after GOD’s discourse?
- Was the GITA-GYAN imparted in the field of battle to one person, named Arjuna, to induce him to give up emotional attachment and engage in a lethal war or was it imparted to numerous souls to exhort them to fight a spiritual battle against the passions of sex-lust, anger and greed etc.,
which were their real foes?
- Was the GITA-GYAN imparted at the end of Dwapar Yuga, which was followed by Kaliyuga or was it delivered at the end of Kaliyuga, which was followed by Satyuga?
- Was the GITA-discourse delivered by Shri Krishna or by God-Father Shiva – the self-luminous, transcendental, eternal entity –
through the corporeal medium of Prajapita Brahma,so as to enable man to rise to the status of GOD or, in other words, from ‘Nar’ to ‘Shri Narayan’ ?
It is necessary to reflect deeply on these questions so as to arrive at the conclusion that the present is the time when GOD of the GITA is again imparting GITA-GYAN incognito to make us holy and Yoga-equipped;
that it is His injunction, exhortation, direction and message –
‘Be you Holy and be you Yogi !Kaliyuga is now at its end and the Satyuga is about to dawn; and therefore now receive as a soul from Me
– your Supreme Father – your GOD-Fatherly Birth-Right of perfect purity, peace and prosperity.’
From a dispassionate study of the true substance of the GITA, any truth-loving person will arrive at the conclusion that it is a bouquet of the highest gems and moral dictates of all the religions of the world.
This conclusion is natural because Gita is a collection of the invaluable divine versions of GOD Who is the Supreme Father of even founders of all other religions.
The truth is that if the world has known the GITA in its correct and unadulterated form without interpolation from the very beginning of its ‘creation’ – the time when it was committed to writing – there would have been no need in India or the world outside, for the multiplicity of religious faiths and creeds and the world, instead of getting compartmentalized by different religions, would have followed a single religion and single code of morality.
We need hardly add that the present history of the world stands as an emphatic and irrefutable proof of this belief of ours.
If the people of that period had known that GITA-GYAN had been taught by the ever-liberated, self-luminous point of light, the Supreme Soul Who, because of being supremely beneficent and merciful, is called ‘Shiva’, then the Buddhists would have acknowledged Him as ‘Bodhisattwa’(Supremely Wise) and the Jains, their Tirthankara (Supremely Pure), because He had all their attributes.
The belief then current, that Shri Krishna was the GOD of the GITA, that is was he who caused the Mahabharat War, that he had 16,108 queens, that he had stolen away the garments of Gopis and that he had killed Shishupaland others, had created among the people loss of faith in the GITA and its Sermonizer as a consequence of which new creeds came into being.
Had the people known that GITA-GYAN had been imparted by Incorporeal God-Father, Shiva – the ocean of Knowledge, the Ocean of Peace – there would have been no obscurity or ignorance among people about the true nature of GOD.
Neither would Buddha have maintained reticence about the existence of GOD nor would Mahavir have believed that there was no GOD in the Universe.
It was because people at that period had forgotten the true incorporeal form of GOD and were not at all clear about Him being a subtle, transcendental point of light that all this had happened.
In this context, Dr. Radhakrishanan’s views are worth reading.
He says: “Conflicting theories and guesses filled the air and great truths were hidden away in the fogs of misty metaphysics; the consequent indecision of through had led to some laxity in peoples’ conduct and behaviors”.
Obviously, if the people had a correct knowledge of GITA-GYAN, there would have been neither the obscurity of thought nor the resulting variety in faith and belief.
For example, if people had believed the Supreme Soul to be the Supreme Person, self – luminous point of light dwelling in Paramdham, they would have been able to concentrate on Him in His true form and thereby got rid of their body-consciousness and vicious sanskars.
But by believing GOD to be omnipresent or identifying the Corporeal Shri Krishna as the GOD of the GITA the mind can not be focused on a point of light and the aim of attaining a subtle transcendental bodiless state cannot be realized.
If the ‘True Essence of 'Bhagwad Gita’ is read in this perspective, everyone will become Arjuna & can win over his/her own vices.
