Happiness can be defined as a feeling which makes you feel good about you and life. You can’t help but smile. It’s a sense of well-being and contentment.
Happiness is actually a DECISION...but Sadly many of us continually postpone our happiness – indefinitely.
It’s not that we consciously set out to do so, but we keep convincing ourselves, “Someday I’ll be happy”. We tell ourselves we’ll be happy when our bills are paid, when we get out of school, get our first job, a promotion.
We convince ourselves life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Once we have babies, we are exasperated and anxious that the kids aren’t old enough and we’ll be happy and content once they are grown up.
After that we are frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with.We keep on adjourning reasons to be happy. We just keep convincing ourselves that we don’t have enough reasons to smile or be happy…
We always tell ourselves that life will be better when our spouse gets his or her act together, or when we will have a nicer car or when we will go on a foreign trip or when we will have more time to spend on our own selves after the retirement.
The Reality is there is no other better time to be happy than right now. If not right now, when? There is no way to happiness – happiness is the way.” Happiness is not a destination, it is a journey. Happiness is not tomorrow, it is now.
It is rightly penned by that, “Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” Scientists also believes that REMEMBERING happy moments in life can boost the immune system for hours.
They investigated the production of an antibody, Secretory Immunoglobulin-A, which can protect against respiratory infections. In those recalling happy times, the amount of antibody get doubled in only 20 minutes and can stay raised till 3 hours.
On the other hand Traumatic or guilty memories can suppress the immune function. So take a decision to be happy forever…BECAUSE Happiness is not a Chase, it is a Choice You Make…
